Core Values

At Valley Church, we have values that guide and direct our ministry. They have been developed over years of seeking God's direction through the Bible and prayer. Values are deep-seated, pervasive standards that influence every aspect of our lives: our moral judgments, our responses to others, our commitments to personal and organizational goals.

God's Word - We are committed to Biblical teaching, preaching, and living in all our ministries. The Bible is our only rule for faith and practice. It has all we need to live lives of deep meaning and overwhelming joy.

Eternal Impact - We believe that our ministries should have global and local impact for the Kingdom of God. As God has touched us with His message of life, we will take that message to others who need it.

Transformational Worship - We expect God to change us as we recognize who He is, obey His Word, and declare His worth to all the world.

Healthy Reproduction - We believe the church is a holistic, living, transforming, and reproducing organism. Every living healthy thing reproduces. As we follow Christ and love the lost world around us, God's kingdom will expand through us.

Christ-like Character - Being like Jesus is our goal and aim. All that we do will be characterized by love, grace, acceptance, encouragement, honesty, humility, integrity, giving, sacrifice, spiritual disciplines, and obedience. Our lives must transform to become more and more like Him.

Dependent Prayer - Prayer is central to all that we do and the power behind all lasting efforts. Human power is limited to our natural abilities. We desire to be used by God in supernatural ways. Therefore we must have God's power. Only He can change hearts. We are blessed to be a part of His work and we enter that work first through prayer.

Team Ministry - We operate as a team and form intentional partnerships with other like minded ministries. Each person has a unique contribution to the work of God. We try to recognize those gifts and abilities and free people up to use those for God's kingdom and honor. We believe that the Kingdom of God is much larger than Valley Church and we share time, energy, people, and resources with other ministries both local and global to spread God's name, His fame, and His reign.

Multicultural Orientation - We reflect the ethnic diversity of the community where we are located. Valley Church is a multi-generational, multi-lingual, multi-cultural family of believers. We have intentionally sought to be a mirror of the wonderful diversity found in the Silicon Valley. By God's grace, it will prepare us for heaven where we will worship with every tribe, every tongue, and every nation.
