Core Values
The Mission and Vision of Valley Church: To make disciples who know God, who are becoming like Christ, and who are working to make Him known in Silicon Valley and beyond. The following Core Values guide how we bring that about...
Celebration - by exalting God individually and corporately.
"You worship that which you do not know, we worship that which we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:22-24
Cultivation - by establishing believers in the Word of God.
"And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me." Colossians 1:28-29
Contribution - by equipping Christians to do the work of ministry.
"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. " Ephesians 4:11-16
Communication - by evangelizing those who do not know Christ.
"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." " Matthew 28:18-20
Connection - by encouraging people to love God and one another.
"And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart." Acts 2:46
By depending on the power of the Holy Spirit.
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be my Witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8
By devoting ourselves to prayer
"But we will devote ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word." Acts 6:4
