Current Sermon Series
Join us for the next 9 weeks as we spend time looking into the life that we were meant to live. To do this we'll go back in history to the giving of the original 10 commandments. As we do so, we'll explore the way that Jesus and the rest of the New Testament authors expanded on the true intentionality and the heart of the commandments.
What we'll find is that the 10 commandments are rooted in issues of the heart. Does our heart belong completely to God? Does he get our supreme focus and is this seen in our relationships with each other?
Many Pharisees believed that they were effectively following the 10 commandments because they followed the letter of the law in relation to the commandments. For example, they would not murder, but they had hatred in their hearts for those not like them. Jesus points out to them that they are still guilty of breaking the commandment because their hearts were filled with hatred for others. Their hearts were away from God.
God has designed us for himself. He has created us to live with him as the focus of our lives. As we do this, the 10 commandments and the heart issues behind them will not be "work" for us, but will be seen in our lives as God continues to mold us and transform us into the image of Jesus.
Our church services are open to all at 9am (traditional worship) and 10:45am (contemporary) with childcare, youth, young couples, and senior citizens groups as well.
