The highlight of missions at Valley Church is the annual

A Living Savior for a Dying World

The preliminary schedule includes

  1. All-church potluck dinner and program, Friday March 8, 6:30PM
  2. Missions-centered messages in both morning services and the evening service, March 10
  3. Seminars Sunday evening, March 10, 6:15PM
    1. Reaching international students for Christ
    2. Lighthouses of prayer
    3. Reaching cities for Christ
    4. Reaching the poorest of the poor
  4. Men's breakfast, Saturday March 16, 7AM, speaker from Red Sea Team International
with missions displays in the 600 building before and after the potluck; and in the 400 building between and after the March 10 morning services. Did I mention donuts?

This conference is the best single opportunity to see what God is doing to reach a needy world, and specifically what part we at Valley Church play.

The theme is taken from John 6:33 and 35, where Jesus declares, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty."

Glen's email of the week:

Friends,

"Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.
At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.'  "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it.  Please excuse me.'  "Another said, 'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I'm on my way to try them out.  Please excuse me.'  "Still another said, 'I just got married, so I can't come."  Luke 14:16-20

There will be a missions banquet in the 600 building this Friday night, March 8.  Everything will be ready at 6:30 p.m.  It is not too late for you to come, just bring a main dish and salad and join us.  There may be some of you that have excuses like those in the parable.   But, I seriously doubt that you have recently bought a plot of land, purchased oxen or taken a wife?  However, if you have I would be interested in hearing about it.  Otherwise I will be looking for you.

Norm Cook will be preaching Sunday morning and Sunday evening.  We will also have several seminars featuring Valley missionaries following the evening service.  We will also begin sharing about "Faith Promise" this week.  What a privilege and opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people around the world.  We indeed have, "A Living Savior For A Dying world."

Because He lives,
