A Living Savior for a Dying World

Kurt Jones, Valley Church

Remember Your Roots.

Glen's email of the week:

Dear faithful ones,

"Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder of those who seek Him."  Hebrews 11:6   It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that God is looking for faith in the lives of His children.  Isn't it thrilling to know that we have a faith that works because He is working in our lives to will and to work for His good pleasure.  Think about it - God at work - in you and through you!  I know it's true because we have His word on it!  (Phil. 2:13)

One of the privileges we have is to participate in "Faith Promise Giving."  Each year during missions month we pray and ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers.  Laborers need financial support as well as prayer support.   Faith promise is an agreement we make with God to give to missions.  Your faith promise and rests on basic Bible truths:

1.  God loves the world!  John 3:16
2.  God is not willing that any perish!  2 Peter 3:9
3.  God has made provision for the world to be saved.  I John 2:2
4.  God uses people to share the good news!  2 Cor. 5:20; Acts 1:8
5.  God's people must be sent in order for others to hear!  Rom. 10:15-17
6.  God's people have the privilege of participating in giving and sending!  2 Cor. 9:5-11

Faith promise is a personal commitment that we make to God to regularly give to the expansion of His kingdom above our regular giving.  One way to determine how much to give is to prayerfully ask the Lord and see if He lays a certain amount on your heart.  If no specific amount comes to mind, then think about what you would like to give if God
supplied.  How does God supply?  Through our abundance, sacrifice, good management,
our creativity, unexpected income and through our faith.

My prayer is that all of us would commit to supporting the only kingdom that will ever
last!  "For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever!"

A reminder to all of you men that it isn't too late to sign up for the men's missions breakfast this Saturday morning.  We have over 80 coming and would love to have you join us.  Just email Richard DeVilliers at dev@netmagic.net.  Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday and remember we have, "A Living Savior For A Dying World."

Because He keeps His promises,
Glen

P.S.  Join us this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in the 600 building for our second game night.  Bring a game and a snack.  I will look forward to seeing you!
