Friends,
Equality is a political correct word in
America. You know I like to look up the definition of words.
Equal means:
-
Having the same value as another.
-
Having the same privileges as another.
-
Having the same status or rights.
-
Impartial; just; equitable!
If we were to travel to Afghanistan or walk the streets of Jerusalem together
we would quickly understand that in those places "equality"
isn't exactly
in. In fact there is only one place
where we can experience equality and that is in
the body of Christ. "Now all of us, Jews and Gentiles, may come to
the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ
has done for us." One version says, "we both have our access
in one Spirit to the Father." Do you know what that means?
We all (Jew, Gentile, slave, free, brown, black or white) all have the
same access to God. In our Lord's sight we have equal
value, status, rights, privileges. You are just as precious and valuable
as Billy Graham. It means that we have no right to
treat anyone as a second class citizen. We are to "welcome
one another in the same way that Christ welcomed us to the glory of God."
Our wonderful Lord took us just like we were - dead, enslaved, condemned,
strangers, aliens, without hope and without God. Then He cleansed
us by the blood of Christ, forgave us, seated us in the heavenlies, put
His Spirit in us, and made us His very own. That is
why we should praise Him, love Him and love others who are part of His
family.
This Sunday we are back in Ephesians and will be studying Eph. 2:17-22.
Let's worship our Risen Lord together like we did on Easter Sunday.
Let's also be praying for those who visited for the first time last week.
Looking forward to greeting you in the name of our wonderful Savior.
Because we are precious in His sight,
Glen
