April 14, 2002 - God's Grace -- Mystery or Reality?

Message by Glen Miller from Ephesians 3:1-10.

Glen's email of the week:

Dear Sojourners,

How would you describe life in one word?  Did the word mystery enter your mind?  It did mine, but then you already know that my mind is quite mysterious.  Do you enjoy a good mystery story?  If you do, then you should be enjoying life!  If you take the mystery and intrigue out of life, frankly, most of us would be bored.  Webster says that mystery is:

  • Something not fully understood or eluding the understanding.
  • A religious truth that is incomprehensible to the reason and knowable only through Divine revelation.
Many aspects of life are mysterious but God's grace is a reality.  If not we wouldn't make it through the day.  Do you remember the hymn called "Day by Day?"  (We will sing it Sunday)

Day by day and with each passing moment
Strength I find to meet my trials here
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure
Mingling toil with peace and rest

I wonder if you know by experience that His heart is kind beyond all measure?  Friend, you can trust His heart even when you can't see His hand working in you life.  His mercy and grace can be your portion today because He dispenses mercy and grace from His throne!  It is yours for the asking!

Because His grace is amazing,
Glen

P.S.  Remember, our loving Lord  won't give you more than you can handle today.  He will give you what He deems best.  Trust Him!
