Friends,

Have you noticed how different we are when it comes to walking? I can often recognize people just by the way they walk - especially basketball players. Guess I have had my eye out for them in my over 30 years of coaching. How's your walk? What would others say about your walk? They do have opinions based on their limited perceptions! God not only has opinions regarding our walk (to conduct oneself or behave in a particular manner) He has commands. Here are a few from Ephesians:

Walk in a manner worthy of the calling! Eph. 4:1
Walk no longer like the Gentiles! Eph. 4:17
Walk in love just as Christ also loved you! Eph. 5:2
Walk as children of light! Eph. 5:8
Walk not as unwise men, but as wise! Eph. 5:15

"Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you may excel still more." 1 Thess. 4:1

My prayer for all of us is that our motivation for living is to please the One who shows us how to walk. Are you entrusting yourself to Him? Entrust your walk to Him. He can even carry you when you can't walk! He can also help you to walk the extra mile because we have His nature!

I am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday. Until then, put your hand in His and just walk. He will enjoy it as much as you!

Knowing the Father's love!
- We have His nature! Eph. 4:24
- His love is in our hearts! Rom. 5:5
- We are His beloved children! Eph. 5:1
  "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand." John 3:35
  "For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and greater works than these will He show Him, that you may marvel." John 5:20
  "Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me." John 17:23
  "You gave Me the glory because you loved Me even before the World began!" John 17: 24
  "And I have revealed you to them and will keep on revealing you. I will do this so that your love for Me may be in them and I in them." John 17:26
Pleasing the Father!
- The obedience of the Son!
  "For even Christ did not please Himself." Rom. 15:3
  "I always do the things that are pleasing to Him." John 8:29
  "I delight to do Your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."Psalm 40
  "But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do." John 14:31
  Result - a sweet aroma
Glorifying the Father!
- Wholesome words!
  "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Prov. 18:21
  "The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word." Isaiah 50:4
- Keep the Holy Spirit smiling!
- Put away ungodly talk and behavior!
- Forgive each other!
  Why?
  - God won't forgive you! Matt. 6:15
  - You will be handed over! Matt. 18:34
  - You don't understand God's forgiveness! Eph. 4:32
Action steps!
- Memorize these verses regarding God's love! John 3:35; 5:20; 17:23,24,26!
- Meditate on our Lord's obedience! John 4:34; 8:29, Rom. 15:3, Luke 2:49. Heb. 10:5-10
- Glorify God by forgiving others! Matt. 18:22
