"Imitating the Son - Walking in Obedience!"

Message by Avery Stafford from Ephesians 6:1-9 in the series: Discovering Your Destiny! (The Majesty and Mystery of God's Will)

Glen's email of the week:

Dearly beloved,

I trust you were with us last Sunday.  David Bendor-Samuel shared at the end of the service about the importance of, "Dealing With Conflict Biblically."  The question isn't whether we have conflict, but how we deal with it in a way that honors God.  During David's Sunday evening session he mentioned 5 keys to effective conflict resolution and here they are:

  • Adopt a godly attitude by viewing the situation from a biblical perspective thus giving glory to God.  1 Cor. 10:31
  • Begin with yourself by recognize your own responsibility and taking the log out of your own eye first.  Matthew 7:5
  • Confront constructively - by helping your brother recognize the issues and showing him his fault.  Matthew 18:15
  • Deal with differences and go and be reconciled.  Matthew 5:24
  • Entrust end results to God knowing He requires faithfulness, not success.           Psalm 37:5
This week we will be examining Ephesians 6:1-9.  It's about children and parents, slaves and masters.  Sounds like there is some potential for real conflict!   The potential will turn to reality very quickly if we aren't walking in the Spirit!

Please continue to pray for our Vacation Bible School program this week.  Our campus is literally crawling with kids.  I am so thankful for all of you who are praying and those who are laboring.

Please join us this Sunday after our second service for a "Church Potluck" in honor of some of our missionaries.  A-M main dish and salad and N-Z main dish and dessert.
Can't wait to see you!

Because He was obedient to the point of death,
Glen
