Dearly beloved,
Yesterday morning I mentioned that we have set aside this Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Campus Center to pray! I read these words from Joel 2:15-17 during my quiet time today.
Blow the trumpet in Jerusalem! Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring everyone the elders, the children, and even the babies. Call the bridegroom from his quarters and the bride from her private room. The priests, who minister in the LORD's presence, will stand between the people and the altar, weeping. Let them pray, "Spare your people, LORD! They belong to you, so don't let them become an object of mockery. Don't let their name become a proverb of unbelieving foreigners who say, Where is the God of Israel? He must be helpless!' Our God certainly isn't helpless! He and He alone is a very present help in time of trouble. We need to call! This email from John and Angela Condie was passed along to me this morning! 3:30pm August 5 Dear Family, This is a brief note to let you know what has happened today. At about 11:20am two terrorists with machine guns stormed into the school. Fortunately, it was between recess and lunch, so that no kids were outside. Two guards, the school secretary (Baber- a young man), and a cook (Javed) were killed. Julia V. (a mom with 2 kids) was shot in the hand; Saleem (retired watchman) was shot in the legs; and William (works in laundry) was shot in the foot. Two other cooks were injured running away. They just needed stitches. No children or other staff were injured. We are all quite shook up. Please pray for wisdom for the future. We will keep you posted. We love you, Angela and John We were reminded yesterday that our battle is not against flesh and blood! "It is against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." I hope your armor is in place! We are calling you to join us tomorrow night to pray! We are announcing that we are going to seek the Lord. We invite you to fast. We are summoning you to tarry for one hour! Seeking the Lord while He may be found,
