Is your God too Small? - Introduction

The first message in a new series.

Glen's email of the week:

Dearly beloved,

"Remembrance and Resolve!"  Those three words made the headlines of today's San Jose Mercury News along with the pictures of 905 victims of 9/11!

It is only proper that we pause and remember.  We remember those who lost precious family members.  We remember the tragic events of that terrible Tuesday.  We remember how the events of one day changed America.  One year today people started calling in two directions.  Vertically and horizontally.  People started calling on God and they were calling their loved one's.  When you boil life down to the bare essentials what else is there?  What else really matters?

On September 11, we gathered here at Valley Church at 7:00 p.m. to remember.  God's people throughout biblical history were exhorted to remember His mighty works and the glorious splendor of His majesty.  We want to remember our nation but more importantly to remember our Lord and Savior!  Paul wrote these words to Timothy in 2 Tim. 2:8.

"Remember, Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my  gospel, for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned."

Never forget friends that the Lord Jesus is alive!  He and He alone is our only hope of glory!  There is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.   There is salvation in no other name but the name of Jesus.  He is the only One who delivers from the wrath to come.  There is no other kingdom but the kingdom of our Lord and Christ that will endure.  It is at the name of Jesus that every knee with bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Therefore, we want to remember and honor the Lord Jesus. We lifted up our voices in prayer and in praise.

Because our God reigns,
Glen

P.S.  Remember that we start our new series this coming Sunday called, "Is Your God Too Small?"  Alan Scholes will also be sharing with us during our evening service at 5:00 p.m.
