Is your God too Small? - Piercing the Darkness -- God is Light

The second message in a new series.

Message by Glen Miller from I John 1:1-10

Glen's email of the week:

Dear enlightened one's,

I well remember one of my greatest fears as a child.  I was very fond of light and feared darkness!  Sometimes I was afraid to go upstairs at night because I was sure there was something under the bed that was going to get me.  Do you know one of my other fears as I continued to grow up?  I was afraid of God.   I didn't know what God was like but I was convinced He was out to get me too.  Then at age 30 God begin to open my eyes to give me the light of the knowledge of Himself in the face of Christ.  My perception and view of God begin to change.  My unhealthy fear begin to be replaced with a healthy fear of the Lord.  I wish I could say that I never have any fears and that I know God fully.  If you are on the other hand have reached perfection ponder these verses.  They may enlighten you!

"This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.  But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives."  1 John 1:5-10

My message title this Sunday is, "Piercing the Darkness - God is light!"  I hope to see you.   Until then I pray that you would walk in the light as He is in the light!

Because Jesus is the light of the world,
Glen
