Christmas message

Message by Kurt Jones

Glen's email of the week:

Dearly beloved,

"There was no room for them in the inn."  "No room," two of the most startling
words in the Bible.  God's only begotten Son didn't have a place to lay His head
when He came into the world.  "He came to His own, and whose who were His own
did receive Him." (No room) When Jesus was grown He said, "The foxes have
holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay His
head."  Amazing?  Yes, but not much has changed.  There is no room for Him in the court rooms, classrooms and business rooms in the land of the free.

I wonder friend if there is room in your heart this Christmas for Jesus?  Not
someone else's heart but yours?   If He seems far away just remember, "He is
standing at the door and knocking."  He wants to come into to your living room,
dining room, bedroom and playroom.  He won't force His way but He will continue to knock.  He desires to sit, chat, listen and enjoy you.  What would ever
prompt Jesus to knock and keep on knocking?  One simple yet profound word -
love!  "Love Found A Way" is an old song with these words.

    Wonderful love that rescued me,
    Sunk deep in sin,
Guilty and vile as I could be - no hope within
When every ray of light had fled - O glorious day!
Raising my soul from out the dead,
    Love found a way.

Love found a way to redeem my soul,
    Love found a way that could make me whole;
Love sent my Lord to the cross of shame,
Love found a way - O praise His Holy name.

There is no way to celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Lord Jesus apart from
the reality of the cross.  It was there friends, on a cross that the Prince of
glory died.  Not for righteous men but for sinners.  Love found a way to  make room for you and me.

One day Jesus told the parable of the dinner.  There is one line in the parable that
lingers, "And the slave said, Master, what you commanded has been done, and still
there is room."  There's room!  There's more than enough room.

On another occasion Jesus told His disciples, "There are many rooms in my Father's
house, and I am going to prepare a place (room) for you."  You and I don't have the
slightest idea of how large or how our room will be decorated.  Frankly, I don't think
we will even notice because of beauty of the Lord Jesus will fill the entire place!

Please open the door of your heart and share fellowship with the Savior of the world.  I will guarantee you that you won't miss Christmas!

Because there's room at the cross,
Glen

P.S.  Invite a friend to one of our Christmas services.  Let them know that there is plenty of room!
