Laurie Nemec

Family and Background:

I grew up in Flagstaff, AZ, graduated HS from Verde Valley School in Sedona, earned my BA from Boston University in Math (with minors in physics and education), and received a technical writing certificate from SJSU. I have been a computer programmer, a tech writer, and a math teacher and tutor. I worked at IBM and Sun. I have a son and a daughter (both are married) and two grand daughters. I have been active in 4-H, Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts and Lyceum. My hobbies are horses, sewing, and cooking with food allergies in mind.

Ministry role at Valley:

Currently I am singing in the Joyful Sounds Choir. In the past, I have helped in VBS, nursery/preschool, the bus ministry, the church orchestra, and producing the women's ministry newsletter. I have sold a number of Christian short stories and have gone on several short term mission trips.

Testimony:

After realizing that God existed, I started to systematically search for the best way for me to worship Him. I became a Christian at a Billy Graham Crusade while a college student in Boston.
