Masie Chan

Family and Background:

Born and brought up in Hong Kong. High school English teacher and administrator for about 20 years in HK before relocating to the Bay Area in the late 90's. Husband Lawrence is an ordained minister with pastoral experience in a HK local church as well as teaching and leadership experiences in seminaries both in HK and in the Bay Area. He is a visiting preacher for various Chinese churches on Sunday, so he hardly appears at Valley Church. We have two adult children, Chris and Yvonne.

Ministry role at Valley:

Member of Joyful Sounds. Member of the Valley Welcome Team. Scripture reader at worship services. Participated in Valley VBS for the past 3 summers, helping in the handicraft room and the classrooms for Grades 3 and 2.

Current occupation and interest:

Full-time homemaker. Hobbies and interest include art, museum visits, handicrafts, singing, fun chats, creative drama, fashion, travels, helping others, making friends, bilingual and bi-cultural activities, appreciating and enjoying everything that is beautiful.

Testimony:

Committed my life to the Lord when I was in college. Have been playing a supportive role to my husband who has been in full-time ministry for over 35 years. Thankful for the learning and serving opportunities at Valley Church.
