Michael Saboff

Family and Background:

I am a true local. I grew up in West San Jose where I still live with my wife Lauren and two daughters Heather and Aileen. I attended local schools before getting my Computer Science degree at UC Santa Barbara.

I experienced many of the changes in our valley as it was transformed from the "Valley of Heart's Delight" to become Silicon Valley. The orchards of my youth have become cubicle farms, houses and strip malls. Through these changes there always seems to be an anticipation for the future.

Ministry role at Valley:

I serve in a behind the scenes role providing technical support for our worship services. You might see me setting up sound equipment for a worship service, adjusting lights, mixing sound, playing a special video or listening to see that the sound mix is "right". In addition to serving in technical support of worship services, I am an elder.

Current occupation and interest:

Growing up in the valley I became interested in electronics and computers in particular. Professionally I am a Software Engineer at Apple Computer.

Testimony:

My family has always been church attenders where even at a young age I enjoyed worshiping in the children's chapel at the Episcopal church we attended. I accepted Christ at 5 or 6 at a neighborhood Good News club, but it wasn't until I was in High School that I wrestled with who God is and that he had a plan for me.
