Elective Classes

Elective classes are offered at various times during the week. They provide a great opportunity for you to share some area you have studied in depth with other interested people. Their limited time span means you can share your gifts without making a long-term commitment. Use this flyer to invite your friends.

Gospel of Luke

Come and join us as we fellowship and study the account of the life of Christ as recorded for us by Luke. This wonderful account of our Lord will help us gain a deeper understanding of the life, the works, and the teachings of Christ. This is a 9-month study (Sept. through June) and our hope and prayer is that it will lead us to a closer walk with Jesus and give us clearer insight into His will for each of us. We warmly welcome married couples and singles - young and old - anyone with a desire to learn more about Jesus, and to follow Him more closely. The class meets 10:45am-noon in the Student Center, starting September 12, and continuing for 9 months through June 2010. Taught by Leong Tan.

Parents, are you prepared to handle your children's questions about philosophy and the sciences in a biblically consistent way? We have 20 seats available for you in our latest discipleship elective class this fall -- The Truth Project! The Truth Project is a 12-week DVD-based small group curriculum designed to build a systematic and comprehensive biblical worldview in the lives of believers. Each lesson looks at life from a biblical perspective, studying the very nature and character of God and how He has revealed Himself to us. This elective is offered on Sundays from 9-10:30am in the Campus Center from September 12 through December 5. Please RSVP to scott@valleychurch.org or Contact the church office.

A Harmony of the Gospels -- Jesus' Second Year of Ministry

Ken Gilbert continues the series on the harmony of the Gospels with an 20-week class on Jesus' third year of ministry. The class meets Sundays 6:30-8pm in room 3171. We explore and compare how the four gospel writers describe Jesus' third year of ministry, from His feeding of the 4000 to the increased attacks by the Pharisees, and to the resurrection of Lazarus. All are welcome.
